ThaiBev Interested in Energy Drink Wrangyer

3 August 2007 - In a statement to the Singapore Securities Exchange, drinks firm Thai Beverage Plc (ThaiBev) confirmed it was considering acquiring Wrangyer Beverage Co Ltd, the producer of Wrangyer energy drink.

ThaiBev said it was negotiating with the Vesvarute family, who own Wrangyer Beverage Co Ltd.

Wrangyer claims to be one of Thailand's leading energy drink manufacturers. Established in 1996, the company has a capacity to produce nearly 400 million units a year.

The Wrangyer energy drink was launched in the Thai market in 1998 and within 6 years helped the company become one of the 3 largest energy drink producers in Thailand.

In April, FLEXNEWS reported that ThaiBev subsidiary International Beverage Holding Ltd (IBHL), was acquiring Chinese liquor maker Anhui Gujing Group for1.08 billion yuan (USD 140 million).
