Chinese Food Ingredient Manufacturing Plant Hit by Blaze

6 August 2007 - Last week a blaze occurred at a Star Lake Bioscience Co., Inc. factory in China.

According to a statement by the Fire Brigade of Zhaoqing Public Security Bureau, Guangdong Province, it is believed that a solvent tank area inside was hit by lightning.

The burnt area is 580 m2 and five solvent tanks were destroyed.

No casualties were reported, however the fire hit the production facilities to some extent.

Star Lake Bioscience Co., Inc. is engaged in the manufacture and sale of edible flavouring preparations and seasoning products. The company also produces food products and ingredients such as monosodium glutamate, soy sauce, high-grade food nucleotides, myo-glucoside raw material medicines and L-proline raw material medicines.
