Midland, MI, August 06, 2007 - The Dow Chemical Company has completed a capital project at its VERSENE(TM) Chelants plant in Freeport, Texas. The undisclosed, significant investment reinforces Dow's commitment to be a reliable supplier of a full range of chelants for current and future demand.
“Providing our customers with the highest quality chelating agents, on time, is critical to the success of our business. This production improvement provides a modest capacity increase and will contribute significantly in reliability and production efficiency,” explained Lori Putt, Product Manager for the VERSENE™ Chelants business.
The project supports the production of specialty chelants, including VERSENE™ CA Calcium Disodium EDTA and VERSENE™ NA Disodium EDTA Chelating Agents produced at the plant. VERSENE™ CA and VERSENE™ NA are known for their use in helping metal ions stay in solution or preventing metals from performing undesirable reactions in applications such ascleaning, food, personal care and pharmaceuticals. The plant meets current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) requirements.
