Turnhout, 13 August 2007 – Miko, the Eurolist by Euronext Brussels listed specialist in coffee service and plastic packaging, achieved a turnover of Euro 53.61 million in the first half of 2007. This is an increase of more than 15 % over the previous year. Around 74 % of the turnover was achieved abroad.
The coffee service activities accounted for 52 % of the group turnover, while the other 48 % was brought in by the plastics division.
The coffee service division’s turnover rose by 9 % compared to the first six months in 2006. This increase can be attributed, on the one hand, to internal growth, but also to the takeovers completed in 2006 involving Leo Coffee based in Hamburg, Germany and Collingwoods Coffee & Tea based in Bristol, UK.
The plastic packaging division’s turnover enjoyed a spectacular increase of 21 % compared to the first six months in 2006. The excellent growth figures achieved by both the Belgian and Polish sites are a result of the investments made in new projects in 2006, which are now achieving their full potential.
The financial results for the first six months will be published in the second half of August 2007.
