Brenntag North America, Inc. Creates New Entity

Reading, PA, Aug. 13 - Mr. William A. Fidler, President of Brenntag North America, Inc., one of the leading chemical distributors in North America, has announced the formation of a new division to be known as Brenntag Specialties, Inc.

Brenntag is setting a new standard in the world of specialty chemical distribution by offering a national technical sales and service platform to service customers and principals, with a focus in the CASE, Personal Care, Food and Pharmaceutical Industries.

Brenntag’s two premier specialty companies ChemTech Specialties, Inc., headquartered in Philadelphia, PA and Mineral and Pigment Solutions, Inc., based in South Plainfield, NJ, will merge to form the basis of the new organization.  This change will be effective September 1, 2007.

Mr. Fidler explained, “This is a ‘growth strategy’ designed to enable Brenntag to effectively leverage the substantial specialty resources that currently exist within the organization, in order to provide additional long term value to our customers and principals. With consolidation in our industry continuing at an accelerated pace, Brenntag Specialties will provide the necessary specialty product portfolio, dedicated sales effort and technical support services that the large global to the small local customer demands today.”

The executive team of Brenntag Specialties will consist of: Mr. Stephen Brauer as President, Mr. Ted Hubbard Executive Vice President, Mr. Mike Leahey Director of Market Development and Mr. Brendan Cullinan Vice President - New Technology.

In 2006 Brenntag once again succeeded in underpinning its position as one of the world’s leading chemical distributors. The company recorded external sales of US$ 7.6 billion (EUR 6.1 billion). Brenntag operates more than 300 locations with more than 10,000 people in 50 countries.
