7 September 2007 - Leading Indian dairy producer Heritage Foods India Ltd has commenced procurement, processing, packaging, distribution and marketing operations in the State of Maharashtra by acquiring assets of M/s. Vikram Dairy, a local dairy firm.
The acquisition includes a dairy plant having a processing and packaging capacity of 50,000 litres per day, a chilling plant with a capacity to produce 12,000 litres per day, and 7 bulk coolers having an aggregate capacity of 23,000 litres per day.
Heritage Foods (India) Ltd is one of the largest milk and milk products producing private sector enterprise in South India. Heritage has recently forayed into food and grocery retailing under the brand "Fresh".
