17 September 2007 - South Korean confectionery producer Orion Corporation plans to invest USD 40 million in a second Vietnamese facility, this time in the northern Bac Ninh province.
The new plant, which is expected to be completed in September 2008, will produce ‘Chocopie’, as well as other snacks, reports the local press.
FLEXNEWS reported that the company’s first facility, in the southern Binh Duong province, opened in December 2006. The factory, which produces Chocopie’, chewing gum, and other confectionery and snack products, is expected to generate USD 53 million annually.
The establishment of a second factory in Vietnam clearly confirms the fact that Orion plans on using Vietnam as its main production base in Southeast Asia.
