Mexican Grupo Bimbo and Argentine Arcor Build JV Candy Plant - Mundo Dulce

18 September 2007 - Mexican bakery and confectionery company Grupo Bimbo and Argentine candy manufacturer Arcor have established a joint venture in central Mexico called Mundo Dulce.

According to a statement issued by Arcor, both firms have jointly invested a total of USD 60 million in the Mundo Dulce confectionery plant located in Toluca, State of Mexico, central Mexico.

The plant, which opened on 15 September 2007, has 14 production lines and a capacity to produce up to 35,000 tons of sweets per year. It will have a workforce of 900.

Mundo Dulce will export its products to Central America and the US.
