Sept 26, 2007 – Nestle SA, the world's largest food company, has announced it is to invest RUR 130 million (3.6 million euro) in expanding the production of chocolate bars at its facility in the Russian city of Perm, the most eastern city in Europe.

The decision comes in response to growing demand for confectionery in Russia. Nestle produces a wide portfolio of products marketed under local and international brands.

FLEXNEWS reported earlier this year that the company expected its Russian sales to climb from $1.4 billion to $1.6 billion in 2007.
