South Korean Lotte to Buy Stake in Vietnam Snack Firm

Seoul, Oct 4 - South Korea's Lotte Confectionery Co said on Thursday it has agreed to buy a 30 percent stake in Vietnamese snack maker Bibica for about 17 billion won ($18.61 million).

Lotte, South Korea's biggest snack company, will sign the deal with Bibica, or Bien Hoa Biscuit and Candy Co, later on Thursday, a Lotte spokesman said by telephone.

Bibica, based in the southern province of Dong Nai, Vietnam, produces confectionery mostly for domestic markets.
