19 October 2007 - Grupo Lala, a Mexican food and beverage producer, is to reopen a cheese factory in Lovington, New Mexico, according to local press reports.
Dairy Farmers of America Inc. closed the plant down in April 2007 because it was running at a loss.
The plant, which employed 61 people, had been producing 40 million pounds of cheddar cheese annually.
The re-opening of the factory could provide jobs for about 75 people.
