London, Nov. 11 - Workers at four U.K. Cadbury Schweppes PLC chocolate manufacturing factories have voted in favor of holding a ballot to decide on possible strike action, the BBC reports on its Web site Sunday.
Last month, the company said it was closing a factory at Keynsham near Bristol and transferring production to Birmingham and Poland, with the loss of 500 jobs at the Keynsham site by 2010.
Steve Preddy, regional industrial organizer for union Unite, said its workers didn't accept the company decision to shut the site. The union said it would continue talks with Cadbury and hoped to avoid strike action.
