19 November 2007 - Romanian dairy producer Albalact expects its turnover to grow 50% to 72 million euro next year mainly thanks to the company's new dairy plant in Oiejdea which will reach full capacity in December this year, say Romanian press reports.
Meanwhile, the dairy firm also sees its turnover rising to between 46 million euro and 48 million euro in 2007, up from 29 million euro in 2006.
In 2008, Albalact intends to invest 7 million euro in a new dairy farm located in the central county of Harghita. The farm will have a daily output capacity of 15,000 litres of milk, add the reports.
In recent months, FLEXNEWS reported that, besides the 10 million euro manufacturing facility in Oiejdea, Albalact also invested 3 million euro in a new logistics centre near Bucharest.
According to Albalact president Raul Ciurtin, the company is one of the top 5 dairy producers in the country.
Along with its rivals Friesland, Danone, La Dorna and Hochland, Albalact has invested heavily in marketing over the past years to grow its brand image.
It spent 500,000 euro alone last year on the promotion of its 3 brands: “Albalact”, “Fulga” and “Zusu”.
