22 November 2007 - Czech bakery company Penam has opened Zelena Louka, the first robotised bakery in the Czech Republic.
The company invested 474 million Czech crowns (17.8 million euro) in the construction of Zelena Louka, creating 120 jobs, reports the local press.
Penam ended 2006 with a net profit of 5.1 million euro and a turnover of 103.4 million euro.
In August, Penam was fined by the Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic (PMU) for fixing prices of fresh bakery products between October 2005 and April 2006, reported FLEXNEWS.
PMU found that Penam Slovakia, M-Market and Super Pek conspired to fix prices in small retail chains in violation of the principles of economic competition. Consequently, Penam was handed a SKK 6.054 million fine.
