German Management Strengthens Sinalco Plant in Serbia

Duisburg, 6 December 2007 - Since autumn 2007, Michael Doerks has been the new Managing Director of Sinalco Srbija d.o.o. Michael Doerks was previously active as Business Development Manager at Sinalco International, Germany.

Michael Doerks is supported in his activity in Serbia by Milenko Karpic (Administration Manager) and Uwe Zittlau (Production Manager). Over-all, the German team of three forms an excellent basis for continuing the success of Sinalco on the Serbian market. Doerks reports to Mongi Goundi, Managing Director of Sinalco International.

The Sinalco production plant in Serbia was built in 2006 as a green field investment, with an investment sum of € 12.5 million in Banja Vrujci, 80km, south of Belgrade. The four filling lines have an annual capacity of 200 million litres. In the meantime, more than 90 people belong to the workforce at the production plant. 

The Sinalco brand was already introduced on the Serbian market in 1997, through the licensee of Sinalco International. The product range constantly developed further, so that it has now expanded to eight important products: Sinalco Orange, Cola, Rosso, Cola Mix, Lemonade, Bitter Lemon, Tonic Water and energi S. In spring 2008, a new, innova-tive product will be introduced on the Serbian market. The degree of brand awareness in Serbia is at 84%.

As a franchise company, Sinalco International grants foreign bottlers licences to use the trademark rights, provides them with all the neces-sary bases, essences and recipes, and thus ensures the consistent high quality of Sinalco beverages. Moreover, the company supports and ad-vices the franchisees in the selection of technical equipment both for production and catering. Sinalco International controls marketing strat-egy and brand management from its German headquarters and supports and advises the foreign partners intensely in implementing marketing and sales activities in their own countries.
