17 January 2008 – UK media report that Tyrrells Crisps is in talks with potential investors regarding the sale of a stake in the specialty crisps company.
Tyrrells, the products of which are only to be found in delicatessens and upmarket supermarket Waitrose, is rumoured to be valued at more than £20 million ($39.55 million).
Media also report that Will Chase, Tyrrells’ founder and owner, plans to build a distillery which will turn potatoes that are too small for crisps into vodka in a bid to build a sustainable business.
