Singapore, Jan. 30 - Industry participants Wednesday projected Vietnam's robusta coffee crop for 2007-08 around 900,000-1 million metric tons, almost 25% less than the Vietnam Coffee Association's initial estimate.
Growers pegged their crop projections near 900,000 tons, while traders estimate the crop to be almost 1 million tons. Vietnam produced a bumper harvest of 1.2 million tons in the crop year ended Sept. 30, 2007.
The country is the world's largest producer of robusta coffee.
