Washington, Feb. 12 - Diageo Plc, the group behind alcoholic beverage brands Smirnoff, Guinness and Johnnie Walker, has been given antitrust approval to buy California wine maker Rosenblum Cellars, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission said on Tuesday.
Approval of the deal, estimated to be worth $105 million, was announced in a listing that the FTC puts out several times a week.
Based in Alameda, California, Rosenblum Cellars was founded in 1978 and is one of the leading U.S. producers of red Zinfandel and Rhone-style wines.
