5 March 2008 – The 125 year old White Lily flour mill in Knoxville, Tennessee, is to close this spring, local media report.
All 72 employees will be made redundant in two stages.
Owner C.H. Guenther & Son Inc., a food company best known for its Pioneer, White Wings and Morrison brands, sold the White Lily brand name to J.M. Smucker Co. in 2006 but continued manufacturing White Lily products for Smucker at the Knoxville plant.
Previous owners of the mill included food giants Tyson and ADM, add the reports.
