Japan's Asahi Breweries Raises Stake in Watami to 4%

12 March 2008 - Tokyo-based pub chain operator Watami has announced that beer producer Asahi Breweries will raise its stake in the company to 4% by purchasing outstanding shares in the open stock market by March 2009.

Moreover, Watami will begin serving Asahi Breweries's beer and other drinks from April at 125 outlets of its Wataminchi restaurants.
