27 March 2008 - Massimo Zanetti Beverage USA on Thursday trimmed list prices it charges for Chock Full o' Nuts ground, roasted coffee by 20 cents per 11 to 13 ounces, effective immediately, a spokesman said.
The firm lowered prices of Hills Brothers and MJB ground coffee by the same amount. Chase & Sanborn coffee is cut by 20 cents per 10.5 ounces.
"We have responded to a sustained declines in green coffee prices in recent weeks," said Brian Kubicki, company spokesman.
Prices of the company's Chock Full and Hills Brothers instant coffee produced in the U.S. were left unchanged.
Increases are in line with Thursday's cuts by Procter & Gamble Co.'s Folgers brand. Kraft Food Inc.'s Maxwell House has yet to lower prices this week.
In early 2006, Massimo Zanetti beverage group purchased Sara Lee Corp.'s U.S. coffee brands - Chock Full o' Nuts, Hills Brothers, MJB, and Chase & Sanborn - along with the company's coffee plant in Suffolk, Va.
