2 April 2008 - According to press reports, France's Le Petit Basque SA, which mainly sells dairy products produced from ewe's milk, is about to be acquired by la Financière Martin, a family holding company that already owns paté producer Lou Gascoun and Gironde Spécialités, which makes cannelé cakes.
Based in Saint-Médard-d'Eyrans near Bordeaux, Le Petit Basque has nearly 100 employees. In 2006, company turnover amounted to 21.9 million euro.
Le Petit Basque had less than 10 employees when the current owner Jean-Michel Caillaud bought the company in 1982.
