3 April 2008 – Eckes-Granini France has sold fruit juice maker Les Vergers d'Alsace SA to dairy cooperative La laiterie de Saint-Denis-de-l'Hôtel (LSDH) for an undisclosed sum, reports the local media.
The company, which is located in Sarre Union (Bas-Rhin departement in Alsace) was bought by Eckes-Granini in 1997 as part of its acquisition of Switerland’s Hero Group.
LSDH expects to invest 5 million euro in the newly-acquired firm to launch new production lines, added the media.
Les Vergers d’Alsace produces 300 million bottles per year and has a workforce of 200. The company’s annual turnover amounts to 120 million euro.
LSDH, with its 400 million bottles and 400-man workforce, has a yearly turnover of 190 million euro. LSDH produces milk and fruit juices for leading retailers such as Carrefour, E. Leclerc and Systeme U.
