9 April 2008 - Nestle Rossiya, or Confectionary Union Rossiya (CU Rossiya), the leading chocolate company in Russia with a volume share exceeding 20%, is planning to invest up to USD 20 million this year in further factory development.

Meanwhile, investments in the company’s facilities reached approximately USD 11 million.
Part of it was spent on the modernisation of its Nuts® production. Others portion were used for the construction of a compressor-refrigerating facility enabling reduced electricity consumption, as well as for a number of other projects aimed at improving the factory’s logistics structure.
Overall, CU Rossiya’s investments during the 1995-2007 period amount to over USD 160 million.
2007 was a successful year for CU Rossiya as several new products were launched by the firm. The company currently manufactures over 150 SKUs (selling key units).
CU Rossiya’s General Director Pavel Rudas commented: “The success achieved by the factory last year can be attributed to several factors. First of all, the factory employees with their experience and expertise should be credited for that. The effective marketing policy allows the company to be always sure of that its products meet consumer preferences and are in a high demand. And, finally, the effective distribution system ensures the availability of our products on the shop shelves across Russia”.
CU Rossiya employs 1,642 people on a permanent basis. Last year, the factory hired 118 extra employees, including 35 workers and 83 various other specialists.
“We are sure that the strength of the company is in its people. Such an attitude towards our employees, a competitive salary, which exceeds average numbers for the industry, as well as a good social package, all of those makes our factory an attractive employer,” stated Rudas.
