LAEP Announces Memorandum of Understanding with Danone Ltda.

São Paulo, April 9, 2008 - LAEP Investments Ltd. which produces, processes, sells and distributes milk and dairy products, by means of its indirect subsidiary Parmalat Brasil S/A Indústria de Alimentos, in compliance with CVM Instruction 358, as of January 03, 2002, announces to its investors and other stock market participants that, on April 09 of the current year, it signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the company Danone Ltda., with the purpose of analyzing and acquiring the trademark "Poços de Caldas", including the purchase of all strategic assets related to this trademark, as well as licensing the use of the trademark "Paulista" in Brazil, Bolivia and Paraguay for producing and selling cream cheese, butter, cream and pasteurized milk for a fifteen (15) year term.
