India Likely to Import 100,000 Tons of Edible Oil - Official (DJ)

Mumbai, April 11 - India is likely to import 100,000 metric tons of edible oil - primarily palm oil - by mid-May, a senior government official said Friday.

"The government has asked the four state-run agencies to import the quantities by mid-May in order to shore up supplies and curb high prices," the official told reporters at the sidelines of a conference.
