LAEP: Lawsuit Against Montelac Alimentos S/A

April 17 - LAEP Investments Ltd, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Lácteos do Brasil S/A, pursuant to CVM Instruction 358 of January 3, 2002, hereby informs its investors and other capital market participants that, on this date, it filed a suit against Montelac Alimentos S/A and its shareholders due to the latter's attempt to rescind the Memorandum of Understanding entered into on March 27, 2008.

Given said Memorandum’s binding nature and exclusivity clause, which prevents Montelac Alimentos S/A from doing business with third parties, Lácteos do Brasil S/A decided to file for an injunction to protect its contractual rights and prerogatives, as well as take the necessary legal steps to avoid or receive indemnity for any resulting damages.
