KFC Voluntarily Recalls Double Chocolate Chip Cakes (DJ)

18 April 2008 - Yum Brands Inc.'s KFC said it's voluntarily recalling its Double Chocolate Chip Cakes because they contain eggs, milk, wheat, soy ingredients and possibly traces of tree nuts, and are not individually labeled with ingredient information.

The cakes are being recalled because people who have an allergy to eggs, milk, wheat, soy ingredients or tree nuts run the risk of a serious or life-threatening reaction if they consume this product.

KFC said one allergic reaction to this product was reported. There is no health risk for consumers who are not allergic to any ingredients in the product, the fried chicken chain said.
