25 April 2008 – Brazilian dairy company Laticínios Bom Gosto S.A. aims to open a new milk processing factory in Tapejara, Rio do Sul, by March 2009, the group said in a statement.
The new outfit will be able to process 600,000 litres of milk a day into 70.6 tonnes of powder milk. Half of the production will be exported to Venezuela, Mexico and Dubai, Bom Gosto chairman Wilson Zanatta was quoted as saying.
Bom Gosto aims to further strengthen its position on the international market in the second half of 2009, when its powder milk unit in San Jose (Uruguay) is also due to start operations. Production at the factory, which will have an initial daily processing capacity of 400,000 litres, will be exported in its entirety.
