2 May 2008 - Refresco Holding B.V., a Dutch manufacturer of soft drinks, is investing 8 million euro in one of its Nuits Saint-Georges facilities in the French department of Côte-d'Or with a view to double bottling capacity and produce up to 100 million bottles in 2009.
According to French financial reports, the investment will require an extra 30 or more jobs. The investment is seen as a move to cater for its main customer Orangina-Schweppes.
FLEXNEWS reported in May 2007 that Refresco acquired 100% of Dijon-based Nuits Saint-Georges Production SAS, which was previously owned by Orangina Schweppes and was used exclusively for the production of the Pampryl brand.
Commenting on the acquisition at the time Mr. Hans Roelofs, CEO of the Refresco Group said: “As part of Refresco Group’s overall buy and build growth strategy, this deal represents another significant step forward for the company. It provides the group with a second plant in France in a market segment that continues to have strong growth prospects.”
The Refresco Group is majority owned by a consortium of investors led by FL Group, a leading Icelandic investment company.
Refresco France has an annual turnover of 250 million euro and has a workforce of approximately 600. The company works with the main beverage players in France: Danone, PepsiCo, Minute Maid, Eckes-Granini, as well as some leading retailers.
