The plant mainly produces portion-control condiments, jams and jellies, dressings, toppings, and sauces.

It is expected that production will be shifted to other Heinz facilities, such as Mason in Ohio, Jacksonville in Florida and Chatsworth in California, say US press reports.

According to the reports, 195 employees could lose their jobs further to the shutdown.
