Nestle to Promote Minere' Water in Thailand

12 May 2008 - With a view to boost its bottled water sales by 15% this year, Nestle's Thai branch is planning to invest 90 million baht (about USD 2.8 million) to promote its Minere' brand, say reports from Bangkok.

The news comes just 2 months after FLEXNEWS reported that Nestle (Thai) would spend Bt75 million (USD 2.4 million) on marketing to boost the share of its Cerelac baby food product in the domestic market.

In 2007, the company reportedly invested 20 million baht on advertising Minere’ and recorded about 8% sales growth.

According to the reports, Minere’ controls a 60% share of the local mineral water market, worth 2 billion baht (approximately USD 63 million, followed by Dharaniphiphat Co., Ltd’s Aura brand at around 17%.
