Nestle Recalls Some Nutrition Build-up Original

May 12 - Nestle has recalled, as a precautionary measure, one batch of its own-brand Nutrition Build-up Original (400g) because it may contain small pieces of thin plastic. The Agency has issued a Food Alert for Information.

The product is a milk-based powder that provides calories, protein, vitamins and minerals and can be added to a wide range of hot and cold foods and used by patients at risk of malnutrition.

Nestlé has recalled the affected batch. A product recall notice will appear in the national press today, Monday 12 May 2008. All customers are being contacted and letters will be issued to hospital customers. These notices will advise customers of the reason for the recall. Anyone who has bought the affected product can return the product lid for a full refund.

  • Best before end: October 2009
  • Batch code: 72760949

No other Nestlé products are known to be affected.
