On the 30 January the merger of the Lantmännen Mills and Lantmännen Axa business areas was made official. The new business area, Lantmännen Cerealia, became operative on the 8 May.

“It feels good that Lantmännen Cerealia is starting to take shape. In spite of a great internal focus being required in the last three months, our earnings are looking good and last week we got the Group Board of Directors’ approval for a significant expansion of Gooh!,” says Magnus Johansson, Business Area Manager of Lantmännen Cerealia.

“We will be investing heavily in increasing our collective capacity for innovation at Lantmännen Cerealia. We will become more international and we will generate a world class supply chain which means that we will be concentrating on improving our cost-efficiency in production, purchasing and logistics.

“Considerable demands are being made on us, but with our highly competent employees and with a series of fantastic brands including Axa, Kornkammeret, Regal, Gooh!, GoGreen, Amo and Kungsörnen, we have every chance of succeeding.”

An overall matrix function for Supply Chain, Marketing and Product Development is being created in the new organisation. The purpose is to achieve a more cost-efficient supply chain, co-ordinated category development for our products, improved utilisation of skills, increased innovation and successful international development. The sale of consumer products is also being linked to the sale of products to industry, bakeries, the catering trade and the wholesale trade in Business Units.
