Kirin and Acecook to Enter Vietnam's Soft Drink Market by Year End

20 May 2008 – Local media report that Kirin Beverage Corp. and instant noodle maker Acecook Co. plan to jointly launch soft drinks in Vietnam by the end 2008.

Kirin and Acecook have recently set up a joint venture in Vietnam, Vina Kirin Acecook Beverage Co, as reported by FLEXNEWS. Kirin brought 51% of the $60 million investment, with Acecook Japan bringing in an additional 39% and Acecook Vietnam the final 10%.

The joint venture partners will outsource production of soft drinks until their new factory to the South of Ho Chi Minh City is operational, by summer 2009.
