Bosnia: Bakery Firm Klas Plans to Grow Exports

29 May 2008 - Bosnian bakery and food producer Klas intends to grow its exports by 10% this year and begin supplying retail chains in the European Union and Switzerland, a company spokesperson informed local media.

To achieve its goal, Klas will reportedly invest 25 million marka (about 12.6 million euro) to upgrade its bakery and confectionery facilities and build a new distribution centre.

The company will also spend 3 million marka (1.5 million euro) in takeovers of local peers and 6 million marka (3 million euro) in environment-friendly technology.

The company's 2007 exports were worth 7.4 million marka (3.7 million euro), accounting for 7% of its total sales.
