6 June 2008 - Romanian food and beverage group Tymbark Maspex, part of the Polish Maspex Group, is investing over 30 million euro in a new manufacturing facility in the southern town of Valenii de Munte, local media report.
The opening of the new plant is due for this autumn. It will mainly produce fruit juice.
The facility will have state-of-the-art storage spaces and production lines, covering a total area of over 50,000 sq m. It will also last-generation technology, aseptic bottling, the media add.
Tymbark Maspex was established in 1996 as La Festa International. It produces juices, instant coffee, tea and cereals. It employs more than 750 people.
In November last year, FLEXNEWS reported that Tymbark Maspex acquired 80% of Romanian pasta manufacturer Arnos.
Maspex Wadowice Group is the market leader in the production of juices, nectars and soft drinks in Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia and the main player in Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania. It is also one of the biggest manufacturers of instant products in Central & Eastern Europe (cappuccino, cocoa, milk power for coffee, instant tea and hot chocolate), and the leader on the pasta market in Poland and the main player in Romania.
In 2007 the Maspex Wadowice Group achieved sales revenues of about USD 953,4 million.
