Parma, Italy/Hedel, the Netherlands, 18 June 2008 - Barilla Holding, global leader in the pasta industry and European leader in the bakery industry, and Bakkersland Groep B.V, a main player in the Dutch bread and pastry industry, have signed an agreement for the sale of the business of Quality Bakers B.V. (formerly Kamps Nederland B.V.) to Bakkersland Groep B.V.
The intended transaction is subject to authorization by the competent antitrust authorities and advice will be requested from the respective Works Councils.
Loyens & Loeff acted as legal advisor to Bakkersland Groep. Stamford Partners acted as financial advisor and De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek as legal advisor for Barilla and Quality Bakers.
