20 June 2008 - The Toronto media reports that Kraft Foods is closing its pudding and gels manufacturing facility in Scarborough, Ontario.
Production will be shifted to a Kraft Foods plant in Mason City, Iowa. However, the closure is expected to lead to 81 job cuts, adds the media.
According to a company spokesperson, the decision is consistent with Kraft Foods’ plans to improve overall performance. The Scarborough is understood to be a relatively small facility with limited equipment.
The plant closure will takes effect in late September.
