Jerusalem, June 22 - Israeli food maker Osem Investments said on Sunday it had opened a new logistics centre, calling it the most advanced processing and packaging plant in the Middle East.
Osem said it invested more than 400 million shekels ($119 million) in the plant in central Israel, which combines eight others scattered around the country as well as seven offices, and projected that it would expand its operations significantly in coming years.
The centre will handle products ranging from ice cream, and frozen chicken to hummus and other salads and meat substitute products under the Tivol brand name.
Osem, 53.8 percent owned by Swiss food maker Nestle , is one of Israel's largest food producers and exporters.
It is set to enter the blue-chip Tel Aviv 25 index on July 1.
