9 July 2008 - The Nestle-Lactalis plant in Lisieux, Normandy, which will soon host the flavoured fromage frais/yoghurt operations of the Sarrebourg (Moselle) Nicolait plant, is expected to hire about 50 people in 2009.

The Lisieux plant, which employs 150, will double its output from 30,000 to 60,000 tons of processed milk per year when the production shift takes place during Q4 2008.

To host the extra capacity, an extra 4,000m2 were added to the Lisieux plant, which will soon have 14 production lines.

80% of the facility’s output is currently sold under the companies’ own brands (Sveltesse, Yoco, la Laitière). However, that figure will be reduced to 50% after the production shift as more products will be sold on to retailers.

Meanwhile, the Sarrebourg plant, which employs 130 people, will remain operational and Lactalis will soon manufacture organic milk at the facility.
