Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service Gives Green Light for PepsiCo to Buy up to 100% in Lebedyansky

On 18th July 2008, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) granted the petition of «Pepsi-Cola (Bermuda) Limited» on buying 100% voting shares of «Lebedyansky» Experimental Caning Factory» OJSC.

«Pepsi-Cola (Bermuda) Limited» is mainly involved in investment operations.

The company is also one of leading producer and distributor of non-alcoholic beverages, including mineral water.

«Lebedyansky» Experimental Caning Factory» OJSC produces and sells juices, juice drinks, baby food, fruit & vegetable preserves, meat preserves, and meat & cereal preserves, as well as other food products.

«Lebedyansky» Experimental Caning Factory» OJSC is not included in the Register of economic entities wit over 35% shares on a particular goods market.

FAS Russia has established that «Pepsi-Cola (Bermuda) Limited» buying 100% voting shares of «Lebedyansky» Experimental Caning Factory» OJSC will not restrict competition on the relevant goods markets.

Upon the transaction, «Pepsi-Cola (Bermuda) Limited» will become one of the leading juice producers in the Russian Federation.

Based on the above, FAS Russia has concluded that the petition shall be granted.
