Israel's Osem Looking into Buying Tribe Foods

Tel Aviv, Aug 3 - Israeli food maker Osem Investments said on Sunday it was looking into the possibility of acquiring U.S.-based Tribe Mediterranean Foods.

In a statement to the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, Osem said it was not certain if talks with the Massachusetts-based chilled salad maker would lead to a deal.

It provided no further information.

Israeli media reported it would be worth between $40 million and 60 million.

Osem, 53.8 percent owned by Swiss food maker Nestle, is one of Israel's largest food producers and exporters.
