Mifroma Acquires 85% of Swiss Cheesemaking Company Dörig

6 August 2008 - French Mifroma SA has acquired 85% of the shares in Swiss cheesemaker E. Dörig Käsehandel AG, the fomer has announced.

The acquisition of the small company, which specialises in the production and distribution of Appenzeller cheese, aims to strengthen Mifroma's presence on both the Swiss and export markets.

Mifroma, a Migros subsidiary, is the current leader on Switzerland's hard and semi-hard cheese market.

The takeover is subject to approval by Comco, the Swiss competition authorities.
