Tunisia Drink Maker SFBT H1 Net Profit Grows 7 pct

Tunis, Aug 7 - Tunisia's largest brewer and soft drinks maker SFBT reported a 7 percent rise in net income in the first six months of the year as turnover grew.

Net profit was 34.3 million dinars ($29.03 million) in the first half, up from 32.0 million dinars a year earlier, the firm said on Thursday in a statememt on the Tunis bourse website.

Turnover at Societe Frigorifique et Brasserie de Tunis (SFBT) increased to 79.0 million dinars from 75.5 million dinars while operating profit climbed 10 percent to 16.1 million dinars.

It gave no reason for the improved performance.

The firm's shares closed unchanged at 12.810 dinars while the wider Tunis index .TUNINDEX rose 0.26 percent.
