Brussels, Aug 7 - European Union experts on Thursday allocated an import quota of 400,000 tonnes of sugar a year exclusively for the bloc's chemical and fermenting industries in a bid to end rows over contracts.
The experts, who represent sugar authorities from the EU's 27 member states, also agreed an export quota of 650,000 tonnes of sugar and 50,000 of isoglucose a year, a European Commission spokesman said.
