At the same time Penam sold its pasta unit to Dutch company Europasta as part of its strategy to focus on its bakery division, add the media. Europasta already owns leading Czech pasta makers Adriana and Bratri Zatkove.

Penam's share of the Czech bakery market has reportedly grown from 12% to 15% further to the acquisition of Pekast.

In autumn last year, FLEXNEWS reported that Penam opened a new bakery near Prague, which supplies goods to central Bohemia.

Penam has a workforce of avout 2,500 and owns 13 production facilities and 4 mills. It operates 39 shops and supplies most retail chains on the Czech market.
