Walkers Withdraws Some Crisps Multipacks

Aug 12 - Walkers Snack Foods Ltd has withdrawn a limited number of Walkers crisps multipacks across two date codes, due to the possible presence of small pieces of black rubber within the product. The Agency has issued a Food Alert for Information.

Walkers has confirmed that the rubber does not pose a risk for those with a latex allergy.

The affected products are:

Walkers Crisps Multi-Packs: 21 packs for the price of 14 promotional packs; 21 pack multipacks; 28 pack multipacks

Individual pack size: 25g

Best before: 13 September 2008 and 20 September 2008 (marked on multipack wrapper)

Further coding on multipacks: GBL 2** 182 ( where ** can be any number)
Time coded between: 02:00 and 06:00 inclusive

Coding on individual packets: Best before 20 September 2008
GBL 2** 182 ( where ** can be any number)
Time coded between: 02:00 and 06:00 inclusive

Flavours implicated: Ready Salted, Cheese and Onion, Salt and Vinegar, Prawn Cocktail, Worcester Sauce, BBQ Rib.

No other date codes or Walkers products are known to be affected.
