Mumbai, Sept 1 - India's coffee exports rose 5.7 percent during the first eight months of 2008 on firm export demand from Europe and on a weak rupee, an official from the Coffee Board said on Monday.
Total exports were 166,465 tonnes during Jan-Aug, compared with 157,422 tonnes a year ago, the official, who did not want to be identified, told Reuters.
India produces only 4 percent of the world's coffee, but exports 70-80 percent of its output.
