Dean Foods' Tennessee Subsidiary Mayfield to Cut 100 Jobs

4 September 2008 - Tennessee dairy company Mayfield Dairy plans to cut distribution 100 jobs in with a view to lower its prices, report local media.

According to Mayfield officials the decision has been approved by parent company Dean Foods.

Established in 1910, Mayfield produces about 69 million gallons of milk and 28 million gallons of ice cream each year. The dairy company has 1,700 employees at 27 locations and its products are distributed in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
